To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education
Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Basic requirements for all grades
Applicants who meet the basic requirements described in the individual occupational requirements are fully qualified for the specified entry grade (generally grade GS-5). Applicants who wish to qualify for positions at higher grade levels (generally grade GS-7 and above) must also meet the requirements shown in the
table on page IV-A-22.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-13: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks below.
Examples of Specialized Experience
Provide supervisory guidance and leadership to management and work collaboratively to develop and implement internal program plans and procedures incorporating goals and objectives of the departments; Anticipates and takes action in planning for potential problems for medical providers; assessing and developing appropriate health care measures for the population served; Prepares, submits, and tracks these documents to ensure the adequate staffing and timely evaluation of and reward for performance.
