Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and recommend revisions to work statements and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting necessary documentation for government requirements.
  • Survey markets to determine availability of services and items with specialized needs.
  • Guide the development of acquisition documents and identify appropriate contract types.
  • Determine procurement strategies, evaluate small business set-aside options, and award contracts.
  • Negotiate terms including pricing, specifications, and delivery dates.
  • Manage appeals, protests, or mistakes within bidding procedures.

Qualifications

For GS-12:

  • Bachelor's degree or 24 semester hours in relevant fields such as accounting, business, or law.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level.
  • FAC-C (Professional) certification, or equivalent experience.

For GS-13:

  • Mandatory training completion and FAC-C (Professional) certificate.
  • Four years of contracting experience, including at GS-12 level.
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in related fields.
