To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
To qualify for this position you must meet both of the screen-out elements listed below:
Ability to do the Work Without More than Normal Supervision: experience and/or training to perform most duties of the Cook, including quantity cooking, on own initiative, subject to only intermittent supervision. Prior experience cooking for large groups of people in institutions, such as schools, hospitals or cafeterias, is desirable.
Technical Practices: This pertains to the knowledge of preparing and serving food for consumption.
These screen-out elements are a critical self-assessment of the applicant's experience and are essential for satisfactory job performance.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.

In addition to the above, qualifications will also be determined by comparing your application to the responses on the Assessment Questionnaire against the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WG-7404 Series. The questionnaire will assess how your knowledge, skills, and abilities match what the work of the position calls for. The elements are as follows:

Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
