Summary
This position is located in the NSA Naples Business Activities Division, NSA Naples Support Site, Gricignano, Italy. The purpose of this position is to provide counter service, food preparation and serving, beverage and barista service. Employee will assist and receive training and experience in cooking short order items, pizza, and catering functions/special events.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of food preparations and limited cooking tasks in a club and/or snack bar environment. Assists higher level food service worker or cook to perform a variety of tasks such as grilling/frying pancakes, hamburgers, hotdogs, bacon, eggs, sausage by watching while the items are cooking, turning as required, regulating temperature and removing when done to specified temperature. Measures and weighs ingredients according to recipes or as directed in the preparation of salads, desserts, juices, fruit trays, etc. Prepares toast, salads, salad dressing and sandwiches. Prepares vegetables and fruits for serving according to instructors and/or recipes. Prepares pizzas to specific recipes. May be required to prepare and serve beverages (coffee/smoothie/tea) and packaged alcoholic beverages. Plates food for presentation to guests in accordance with instructed procedure/specification.
Washes and cleans kitchen equipment and work area. Keeps refrigerators, grills, equipment and working area clean and sanitary at all times.
May be required to collect money, operate a cash register, and prepare Daily Activity Report (DAR) for cash accountability for MWR funds received.
May assist in taking monthly inventory. May assist with outdoor MWR functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System.
- Incumbents must satisfactorily complete all background checks, including a fingerprint check, a National Agency Check with Inquiries.
- Incumbents must pass pre-employment medical examination.
- Work schedule is flexible and will vary as required by the needs of the program.
- Incumbent must be 18 years of age or older.
Qualifications
Must be able to follow recipes and combine/measure/weigh ingredients. Must be knowledgeable on food handling, food presentation, and accepted hygiene practices. Must be able to read/write/converse in English. Requires previous food handling experience.
Must have or obtain Food Handlers Certification to be updated and maintained annually.
Must have or obtain within 30 days alcohol server certification, to be updated and maintained annually.
Education
This position does not have a positive education requirement.
