There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common custodial, janitorial, and housekeeping activities within a large hospital setting. I am skilled in cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Cleaning ledges and woodwork. Replaces soap, towels, and toilet tissue. Makes duty beds, notes condition of spaces and reports to supervisor any broken windows, waters leaks, clogged drains, burned out light bulbs and other equipment requiring maintenance and repair. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort to operate various equipment such as vacuum cleaners, lightweight buffers, dust mops, and lightweight powered scrubbing machines. Continually standing, bending, climbing, stooping, and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying the rash chute and pushing carts loaded with trash. Must be able to lift and carry 45 pounds, pull/push equipment, reach above shoulder height. Must be able to work in and around dust, chemicals, fumes, allergens, and odors.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation, except when dumping trash. There is a chance of slips or falls on stripped or waxed floors. Cuts, bruises and exposure to infectious disease in cleaning isolation rooms are possible. Disposing of contaminated and infectious waste is required.
