There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex custodial, janitorial, activities completed within a hospital setting. I am skilled in independently checking performance of custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping services of all areas to include patient rooms, wards, clinics and common areas for quality and quantity of work performed; preparing reports with results to leadership recommending corrective actions; distributes and balances workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and ensure timely accomplishment of assigned workload. Pass on worker instructions and observe task in progress for journeyman level employees; Monitor status of work and make day-to-day adjustments; maintains records of work completed and time expended as necessary. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Must move and control heavy equipment, carry and set up ladders and scaffolding, and work from ladders and scaffolds. Frequently, lifts moderately heavy objects (about 40 pounds).
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors most of the time and outdoors occasionally. Exposed to conditions inherent in cleaning tasks described such as chapped hands or other irritation from working with strong cleaning agents. Possibility exists of serious disabling injury as a result of electrical shock from power cleaning equipment or from falling from scaffolds or ladders.
