Duties

  • Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and common areas.
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using brooms, mops, lightweight equipment such as vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers.
  • Dusts waxes and polishes furniture and fixtures.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes bathroom and toilet facilities.
  • Make beds and changes linen.
  • Washes mirrors, walls, windows, and blinds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
  • Must be willing to work varying and/or rotating shifts.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para 2.
  • All employees are required to be available for Community Events that Business Operations Division Supports. The events include but not limited to Octoberfest, Freedom Fest, Children's Festival and Winterfest.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must be able to follow simple oral instructions and use hand or light weight powered cleaning tools and equipment as described which generally require no prior training or previous work experience.

Best Qualified:
Possess 3-6 months Custodial experience.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials Will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
