Summary
This position is in the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, an AFRC Facility in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavarian Alps, Germany.
Performs general cleaning tasks in rooms, corridors, and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing. Cleans & disinfects bathrooms, empties trash, changes linens, and washes surfaces like windows and walls. Replenishes toiletries and room supplies and reports maintenance issues. Maintains stock of cleaning materials and room amenities.
Duties
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
Works under the supervision of the Executive Housekeeper or higher-level supervisor who issues instructions on work sequences, procedures, methods, and deadlines. Works under general supervision. The supervisor can provide information or decisions regarding problems that may arise during work. Work operations are reviewed for status, progress, quality, and guest satisfaction.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and common areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips, and polishes using brooms, mops, and lightweight equipment such as vacuum cleaners, lightweight floor scrubbers, waxers, and buffers. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture and fixtures. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes bathroom and toilet facilities. Empties trash. Make beds and change linens. Washes mirrors, walls, windows, and blinds. Provides and replenishes toiletries and room condiments. Note the condition of the room and report any conditions requiring maintenance or repair. Maintains the stock of rooms, cleaning supplies, and condiments to perform assigned duties.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE:
Must have the ability to follow instructions and read signs. Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment. Must be able to remove different kinds of stains from various surfaces. Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervisors or leaders assign tasks, and incumbents accomplish assigned work. Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion for production, quality, appearance, and overall guest satisfaction.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Required standing and walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items or carts weighing up to 20 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Workers are exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors and to skin irritations from cleaning solutions. Care is required to avoid injury when moving furniture and using powered equipment.

- Must be willing to work irregular work schedule (nights/weekends/holidays)
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- The applicant must be able to follow simple oral instructions and use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools and equipment as described, which generally require no prior training or work experience.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME.
Applicants must have one year of post-high school experience in the service industry or one year of post-high school education.
