Job Description (Please follow all instructions carefully)

Summary

Multiple positions are located in the Customer Contact Section I and Section II - Multiple Teams, under Customer Engagement Division, in the Servicing & Asset Management Office (SAMO) of Rural Development (RD).

The Customer Engagement Division staff are the primary customer-facing division. Providing program guidance to current and delinquent customers through multiple communication channels and taking the appropriate action as a result of research and loan analysis.

Duties

  • Provides efficient and accurate customer service via multichannel of communications to a nationwide portfolio of all current and delinquent RD program loan and grant recipients and other external customers.
  • Resolves escalated agent and customer issues as well as providing coaching. Performs regulatory, analytical, and program management functions and reports any out of tolerance findings for action.
  • Provides technical and/or analytical assistance to support SAMO in response to questions regarding regulations, policies, directives, specific job tasks, techniques, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Locates and assembles mortgage loan, financial or industrial information and performs basic analysis; reviews payment history, prepares straightforward portions of reports or findings.
  • Updates customer contact and loan data based on review of requirements. Identifies areas and types of corrective action needed, corrects records and advises the customer of the appropriate action that may need to be taken.
  • Monitored on calls by Telephone Reps to ensure quality and identify any further training needs.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

GS-09: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, or it's non-federal equivalent.

Specialized experience is defined as performing a range of mortgage loan servicing duties such as: analyzing payment histories, payment applications, delinquency work-out agreements, escrow analysis, subsidy, taxes, insurance recapture, payment assistance and payoffs on delinquent and non-delinquent accounts through multiple communication channels (email, fax, phone and chat); providing technical and/or analytical assistance to customers and third parties; responding to questions regarding mortgage loan regulations, policies, directives, specific job tasks, techniques, procedures and outcomes; and determining viable options to make mortgage loan program customers successful,

OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field,

OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LLB or J.D., if related.

OR a combination of education and experience (as defined above).
