Who May Apply: US Citizens
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for the GS-11 or GS-12 level:

Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Specialized Experience Requirements
GS-11
To qualify at the GS-11 you must have
one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level that demonstrates application of analytical, mathematical, and statistical theories, performing research to obtain, develop, and present facts and information on program operations and systems, knowledge of and utilization of data-mining techniques.
GS-12
To qualify at the GS-12 you must have
one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that demonstrates application of complex analytical, mathematical, and statistical theories, conducting research studies to obtain, develop, and present facts and information on program operations and systems, advanced knowledge of and utilization of data-mining techniques, and collaborating with others to solve underlying problems and find solutions to data needs.
