Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Combat Forces Command (CFC), Mission Delta 9 (MD9) at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado is searching for a Delta Government SAP Security Officer (NH-0080-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).

Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber, forward-thinking Security Specialist to serve as a critical guardian of our nation's space domain advantages. In this role, you won't just enforce rules-you will design the secure environments that allow cutting-edge aerospace and satellite capabilities to safely transition from concept to operational reality.

As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will lead a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary security portfolio spanning Information, Personnel, Industrial, and Physical Security (including SCIF/vault management). Ideal Candidate:
Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices; knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships; knowledge of security classification methods and concepts; knowledge of Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information security procedures; skill in planning, developing, analyzing and evaluating security programs; ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls.
2. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs.
3. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations, and/or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls.
4. Knowledge of required Security Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security procedures.
5. Skill in planning, developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program.
6. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI access. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs required to perform daily duties.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Employee is in a designated position that requires consent and thereafter be subject to and successfully complete, an initial, periodic and random counterintelligence (CI)-scope polygraph examination as a condition of employment.
  • This is a designated drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) required.
  • IAW DoWI 3020-42, this position has been locally, or command designated as Mission Essential (ME).
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • This is a Centrally Managed Position. PCS is authorized. Incentive is not authorized.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
