The incumbent will be required to deploy at sea on board US Navy ships. Deployment lengths will vary from a few days to over 10 months at a time. The incumbent will receive a deployment differential of 40% of his/her salary while deployed. Regions may approve additional compensatory time-off based on a sliding scale depending on length of deployment. The work schedule while deployed will vary depending on requirements. The incumbent will be on call 24 hours a day while deployed for crisis intervention situations.
At sea, the incumbent shares a stateroom in officer berthing; meals are obtained by joining the Officers' Mess as a paying member, and meals are purchased by monthly billing.
This position is mission essential. The incumbent may be required to travel, deploy, or provide services at homeport during a variety of crises and disasters, including serving during times of world conflict, natural disasters, accidents, man-made crises, and other situations as an extension of the FFSC mass care and crisis response program.
