As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core Qualifications and Mandatory Technical Qualifications listed below.
The application process used to recruit for this position is the RESUME-BASED Method. The applicant must address the Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs) and Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) in detail within their resume. Resumes must not exceed eight (8) pages.

MANDTORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (MTQs):
IN ADDITION TO THE ECQS, YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (MTQs): Your responses to the MTQs should be embedded/addressed in detail within your resume, not to exceed eight (8) pages.
- MTQ#1: Demonstrated experience and/or ability to provide leadership, direction, and oversight for a complex organization in one or more functions: safety, security and quality assurance operations including nuclear safety; operational safety; safety management; standards and quality assurance; and safeguards, security and emergency management.
- MTQ#2: Demonstrated senior level experience in resolving difficult and controversial issues related to operations in a large enterprise organization including the ability to oversee strategic planning, performance, evaluation, and to organize, direct, develop and execute the actions leading to resolution.
- MTQ#3: Demonstrated experience in dealing with senior Congressional staffers, private industry contractors, departmental officials, government officials and external stakeholders as it pertains to coordinating responses and actions, responding to top-level inquiries, and enhancing relationship through positive interactions.
