The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Air Force Base is searching for a Deputy Chief for Acquisitions Logistics and Product Support, SYD 89 (NH-0346-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).
Description:
Primary purpose of this position is to serve as Deputy Division Chief and Product Support Manager Product Support Division, Space Domain Awareness & Combat Power and Battle Management Command, Control & Communications, PEOs, directing and supporting the activities of space programs within SSC. Considered a Senior Leader/Subject Matter Expert by others in the organization; sought out by others for assistance and implements approaches to resolve issues.
Ideal Candidate:
Knowledge of the logistics management principles, concepts, policies, and laws; logistics functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve product support/logistics problems; and all aspects of life cycle integrated logistics support. Ability to lead a team and/or individual members of a team ensuring the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the teams' strategies, goals, objectives, work. Plans, and work products and services. Knowledge of the missions, roles, function, organizational structures, and operation of the United States Space Force and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition processes and integrated life cycle management. Skill in stratifying resources against approved programs; planning, presenting, and executing acquisition programs; analyzing budget impacts on programs; forecasting long-term O&S funding requirements; reviewing, evaluating, and presenting data; and supporting analysis of logistics management programs and activities' specialized documentation.
The ideal candidate will have earned a logistics or business Bachelor's Degree, APDP Logistics Management Credentials (pending applicable waivers as needed for certification), DoD experience is highly desired, along with Team Leader experience.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate.
2. Knowledge of agency program goals and objectives and the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones; and of planning, programming, presenting, and executing budgets as well as forecasting long-term funding requirements.
3. Knowledge of the logistics functions, programs, and systems applicable to product support; and the sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice related to life cycle integrated logistics.
4. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the staff of an organization, including special study teams and task forces composed of members from different organizations and commands.
6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.
