In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Religious Education Services GS-1701 occupational series has specific educational requirements which apply to all positions. Education above the high school level must have been completed in a U.S. college, university, or other educational institution that has been accredited by one of the accrediting agencies or associations recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.
Educational and professional requirements for the GS 11 level:
A Master of Religious Education degree or its equivalent from an accredited graduate school
OR a Master's degree of any discipline other than religious education which includes a minimum of 24 documented credits in religious education theory, practice, or spiritual formation.
AND
A minimum 2 years of documented professional experience leading a religious education program.
