Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at the Pentagon is searching for a Director of Staff for S2X (NH-0080-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent).
Description:
Are you a leader looking to protect the future of warfighting? If so, come join the S2 as it trailblazes into its newly established Integrated Security Enterprise, as its Director of Staff. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing expansion of the organization working directly for the Director. You will be responsible for building contracts, managing resources, and hiring the right security experts to build the new enterprise vision.
Ideal Candidate:
Should have a diverse background across security, resource management, and personnel management with demonstrated ability overseeing complex organizational transitions.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Expert knowledge of financial management. Mastery of the Department of Defense Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) cycle, financial regulations, and congressional budget processes.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR, DFARS), contract administration, and the oversight of contracted professional/technical services. Experience serving as or managing Contracting Officer's Representatives (COR) is highly desirable.
3. Mastery of management and organizational principles to lead and direct complex, multi-million dollar studies, programs, and portfolios.
4. Expert knowledge of intelligence principles, policies, and procedures, particularly as they apply to the space domain and National Security Space architecture.
5. Superior ability to communicate, negotiate, and defend program and resource requirements, both orally and in writing, to senior defense and congressional decision-makers. Ability to persuade others to accept recommendations, work toward an agreement, and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI clearance.
- Position will close in 5 business days or 75 applications (whichever comes first).
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- PCS/Relocation funding is authorized and may be made available.
- Employee may be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 30 days per year.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- Within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DoW 3305.13-M, DoW Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.
- Must be able to obtain and Maintain, SFPC: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, SPIPC: Security Program Integration Professional Certification.
- Employee is in a designated position that requires consent and thereafter be subject to and successfully complete, an initial, periodic and random counterintelligence (CI)-scope polygraph examination as a condition of employment.
