Minimum Qualifications: (Screen Out Elements):
WG-05 Drill Rig Operator Helper: Ability to do the work of a(n) drill rig operator and simple drilling techniques under supervision. Ability to repair, operate, maintain, and perform routine repairs of a wide variety of equipment. Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Provide safe assistance to field operations, follow directions to prepare site prior, and load proper equipment and materials for assignments. Troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain small equipment and engines. Drive a manual transmission vehicle. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

WG-08 Drill Rig Operator: Ability to do difficult and complex tasks and provide advanced assistance in operating various drill rigs, utilizing a wide range of sophisticated drilling techniques ~
without more than normal supervision. Ability to operate power auger drill rigs designed for shallow-depth drilling to explore various geologic areas. Prepare for drilling jobs by aligning the rig and installing proper bits and devices. Operating control levers of a drill rig under normal drilling conditions. Drill in various types of formations, such as clay, sand, or silt. Perform field maintenance of drill rig equipment such as the drive shaft, cylindrical buckets, related bits, pumps, and motors. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Ability To Provide Production Support Services

Physical effort: Work is performed outdoors and requires good physical strength and stamina, use of both handsand feet to operate machinery, good pulmonary function to allow the use of a level C respirator,good balance and coordination, good manual dexterity for assembling & disassembling drill pipe andworking with hand tools, and tolerance of heat and cold. Effort requires standing for long periods,climbing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting in the accomplishment of workassignments. Quick reactions are necessary to respond to changes in soil conditions and equipmentbehavior. Is required to lift objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds and handle objects in excess of 100lbs. Hoisting devices and/or assistance is available when moving larger objects.
Working Conditions: The drill rig operator assignments will be outside in the elements over the full range of weatherconditions, and a full range of terrains. This work is at various locations away from the duty stationrequiring temporary relocation. Exposure to injury is from the use of heavy equipment, heavy liftingand carrying, cuts from various objects in the work environment, and other situations.
Education
