This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: The incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and where parts of the systems worked on are in hard-to-reach places requiring long periods of standing, stopping, bending, kneeling, climbing, stretching, and working in awkward, cramped, tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries and sets up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh 20-40 pounds. Occasionally may lift moderately heavy objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed both inside and outside, and sometimes in bad weather and in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy. May work on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet or in close quarters such as manholes, attics, or aboard ships. May occasionally be exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and rotary devices such as electrical motors. Subject to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
