THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (T32), Position Description Number D2284P01 and is part of the RI 143d MXS RIANG.
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems.
Duties
Serves as section supervisor, exercising supervisory responsibility over assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Supervises employees involved in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multicomplex avionics systems. Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities and materials. Establishes deadlines and priorities and work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Determines the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs additional duties such as accident/mishap response, various shift supervision, special project management, heavy equipment operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies, as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an EXCEPTED SERVICE position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Rhode Island Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period.

- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

MILITARY COMPTATIBILITY REQUIREMENT:
For Dual-Status Technician positions service affiliation under Title 32 USC 709 is required.
Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate possesses the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Candidate also has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
In addition to the craftsman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade
personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
