GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess
18 months of specialized experience in the following:
- Experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment.
- Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems.
- Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment.
- Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc.
- Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to apply electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in complex electronic systems or individual subsystems of an electronic integrated system.
- Knowledge of the principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices theory, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory.
- Ability to interpret and trace schematic, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Ability to perform algebraic and trigonometric formulas to solve work related problems.
- Knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management Systems (TAMMS) and other publications and directives as may be applicable to the function.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.
MILITARY GRADE (Prior to Application): Enlisted: E-1 through E-8
UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT: Any aviation unit within the state
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is covered by the medical monitoring program. Individual selected must undergo a preemployment physical examination prior to appointment. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) is a mandatory condition of employment, subject to availability of resources. NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC must be completed within 6 months of assignment to this position. Failure to complete course(s) may result in reassignment or termination of full-time employment unless extenuating circumstances preclude course attendance.
