About the Position: Serves as an Electronics Technician in the Pittsburgh District in connection with the review, inspection, testing, maintenance, repair/modification, replacement, and installation of industrial control and used in civil works facilities to include 23 lock and dams and Flood Risk Management project site

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

  • Support project personnel with the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, testing, and installation of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and programming of the Electrical of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems.
  • Serves as Point of Contact for in-house and contractor installed control upgrades at project sites.
  • Performs routine, periodic, and emergency specialized maintenance, configuration, testing and auditing of industrial control and electrical equipment at project sites.
  • Maintains oversight of project's critical components inventory and provides recommendations on priority of replacement.
  • Responsible for ensuring applicable control systems are cyber compliant according to guidance and systems are physically protected
  • Develop Statement of Works (SOW), plans, drawings; and create and revise drawings to reflect accurate writing, system devises, and components in the field.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level which includes lectronic theories and converting theoretical ideas into practical applications; skills working with programmable logic controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) or Operator Interface Terminals (OIT), Input/Output (I/O) devices, electrical control circuitry (relay logic), and/or other electrical control systems related to drives, power, lighting, security, etc. Knowledge of electronic and electrical systems and devices related to industrial, hydraulic, optical, and mechanical systems.

Education
