Summary

You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Combat Systems Weapon Division of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.

Duties

  • You will conduct testing and evaluation of highly complex components and designs to identify technical specifications for the development or procurement of systems or subsystems.
  • You will solve operability issues by applying comprehensive technical knowledge of electronic communications equipment and systems.
  • You will assess material conditions of ship systems to recommend the level of maintenance or repair required in a project.
  • You will troubleshoot and perform maintenance on electromechanical and electronic equipment to ensure functionality.
  • You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports or similar problems.
  • You will perform functional checkout, grooming, adjustment and test of repaired, new or modernized shipboard systems.
  • You will serve a team leader of organized teams.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Troubleshooting, repairing, and configuring AEGIS weapon systems and their interfaces;
2) Solving problems affecting the AEGIS weapon systems with software, electrical, electronic, and other engineering disciplines;
3) Providing technical assistance for mission degrading Casualty Reports (CASREP); and
4) Providing technical services to include, inspecting, repairing, and providing training on AEGIS computing systems.
