Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR without more than normal supervision. Engineering Equipment Operation Screen out: Operate and maintain heavy equipment to include: bulldozers, loaders, dump trucks, excavators, backhoes, etc..

- Physical Effort: Works in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods. The work requires frequent standing, bending, crouching, kneeling and climbing. Frequently lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally items weighing more with assistance of material lifting devices or other workers.
- Working Conditions: Work is performed in both the field and shops. Incumbent is exposed to extreme heat and cold, noisy, dirty, and dusty areas, uneven ground, and insect and reptile stings or bites. There is danger of drowning when working on flood control structures. Is exposed to inadequately heated areas, as well as, dirty, greasy, fumed, and noisy areas. Possibility exists for injury from dropped parts, slipping tools or slipping from work positions. Work inside is usually performed on concrete floors, which is fatigue producing from long periods of standing and stooping. Incumbent is exposed to disagreeable fumes from exhaust of engines, minor cuts and bruises from working in close places and hazards of moving vehicles, equipment, machinery, swinging loads, overturning, and breakage of cables. Subject to bruises, broken bones, and strained back.
