Summary

You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Aerospace) in the FST Engineering Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

  • You will perform maintenance and design engineering tasks on a variety of aircraft structures and systems.
  • You will plan and conduct work for which precedent data, criteria, methods or techniques are inadequate
  • You will provide aircraft engineering services in support of troubleshooting, rework, repair, maintenance, inspection, and modification/redesign of aircraft structures, systems, and components.
  • You will coordinate material or hardware substitutions with engineers and metallurgists.
  • You will investigate and resolve complex technical problems related to the rework and repair of aircraft discrepancies and malfunctions and unprecedented service difficulties.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Experience providing aviation in-service technical guidance for engineering projects, products, and services. 2. Experience assisting and/or leading others to complete aviation in-service technical projects, products, and services. 3. Knowledge of operation and maintenance for military aviation components and systems. 4. Experience communicating aviation maintenance methods and theories of operation to aircraft maintenance personnel.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
