Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will NOT be accepted through this flyer. Duties

  • Tracking records of daily usage, fuel consumption and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting hydrographic survey equipment.
  • Reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with environmental and safety laws and regulations.
  • Processing data, video and imagery collected during missions.
  • Responding to a wide range of inquiries from concerned citizens.
  • Communicating with internal and external contacts to gain insight on survey projects.
  • Monitoring data and channel conditions for safety.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is Mission Essential.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Incumbent must obtain/maintain American Red Cross Standard First Aid card in good standing within 6 months of appointment.
  • Incumbent must obtain/maintain American Red Cross CPR certification within 6 months of appointment.
  • This position requires an FAA Drone Pilot License that must be obtained within 24 months of appointment.
  • Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Corps of Engineers boat license within 6 months of appointment.
  • This position requires a physical examination.
  • This position requires temporary duty or overnight business travel up to 40% of the time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
GS 07: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting two of the following: (1) Performing quality assurance field inspections, (2) Ensuring field activities are compliant with the environmental and safety regulations and standard procedures, (3) Preparing detailed reports of field studies and/or findings and (4) Using survey techniques and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

GS 08: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting three of the following: (1) Performing quality assurance field inspections, (2) Ensuring field activities are compliant with the environmental and safety regulations and standard procedures, (3) Preparing detailed reports of field studies and/or findings and (4) Using survey techniques and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

GS 09: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting all of the following: (1) Performing quality assurance field inspections, (2) Ensuring field activities are compliant with the environmental and safety regulations and standard procedures, (3) preparing detailed reports of field studies and/or findings and (4) Using survey techniques and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
