Summary

You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the LCS Auxiliary Division (B250) of FW DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET BAHRAIN.

Duties

  • You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports (CASREP) or similar problems affecting assigned equipment
  • You will provide technical assistance on less urgent but complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
  • You will report directly to the RMC Engineering Department regarding repairs that do not meet the OEM or NAVSEA specifications.
  • You will communicate with ship's officers, the RMC Maintenance Team and repair facility management, as required regarding all cost, schedule and quality issues.
  • You will participate in Alteration Installation Teams (AITs) (which may include the installation of Ship Changes (SHIP CHANGE DOCUMENTS).

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

1. Providing technical service in connection with maintenance of elevators and conveyors for ship repair; AND
2. Troubleshooting and providing technical services for equipment such as boat davits, anchor windlass, sliding padeyes for repair and maintenance; AND
3. Providing technical service for equipment or parts such as hoists, doors including helo hanger doors, Recovery, Assist, Secure and Traverse (RAST) system for ship repair; AND
4. Troubleshooting and repair of LCS Water Jet system and/or steering system for ship maintenance

Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week).

The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders.
