Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Managing the environmental program at the facility to implement environmental concepts, theories, practices and techniques applicable to environmental protection;
2) Applying executive orders, rules and regulations of various federal regulatory agencies concerning the environment and to identify required compliance actions;
3) Serving as environmental/hazardous waste representative with technical, analytical and administrative responsibility to ensure management, storage and disposal of hazardous waste material is accomplished in an environmentally accepted and regulatory compliant manner;
4) Reviewing engineering designs and assessing environmental hazards to determine environmental impact on proposed projects; AND
5) Preparing hazardous waste and environmental quality reports and compliance documentation in response to regulatory agencies as needed.

The work is essentially sedentary but does involve frequent walking, bending, climbing, stooping and kneeling to perform inspections, detect leaks, sample, conduct lifting and exertion associated with resource recovery collections and turn ins.
Some exposure to inclement weather or movement over uneven terrain will occur. Part of the work is performed in an office setting. The work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, training and use of personal protective equipment. The employee follows all prudent and prescribed safety practices in performing work.
