This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:
1) Operating gasoline or diesel powered, wheeled or tracked heavy equipment to maintain access roads and fire breaks; 2) Assisting in painting targets and perimeter markers, moving markers as needed for equipment and brush removal; 3) Assisting in delivering food, supplies, and potable water for target site; 4) Performing minor preventive and corrective maintenance on all vehicles; 5) Using basic firefighting techniques in case of facility or brush fire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The incumbent will encompass heavy physical exertion, heavy lifting, prolonged standing or sitting, some degree of dexterity, climbing of stairs or ladders for extended periods of time and exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and dirt.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Incumbent will be exposed to a desert environment and outdoor work in temperature extremes can be expected approximately 30 percent of the time.
