Summary

You will serve as a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the Australia Maintenance Support-200AU of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF .

The location for this position is Garden Island, Australia. Employee's initial pay and compensation will be based upon their current duty station and/or residence as determined by the employing activity. ***See Additional Information section below for details***

Duties

  • You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SEM) Equipment Specialist (EQS) for all Surface and Submarine maintenance and material/equipment ordering operations.
  • You will mange and coordinate the ordering and acquisition of project materials to support the overall planning and scheduling efforts in both advance planning and execution phases.
  • You coordinate timely and successful material processing with supply department (NAVSUP) representatives, purchasing agents and contracting officials.
  • You will resolve material quality and technical issues associated with material requirements.
  • You will advise project engineers and technicians of material requirements and specifications.
  • You will provide coordinated and timely responses on material discrepancies mitigating production schedule impacts collaborating with AUKUS departments, vendors and associated manufacturers.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: directing all material procurement, operational support and tracking, conducting analysis of process deficiencies AND reading and interpreting drawings and blueprint for systems and components to support material ordering and operability in accordance with specifications.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
