Summary

You will serve as an Executive Director of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.

Duties

  • You will be responsible for policy formulation, overall command tactical and strategic planning, civilian/military/support contractor management and implementation of SERMC and SEA21 programs as they relate to the mission.
  • You will represent the Commanding Officer in developing, coordinating and presenting the regulatory and technical implications of present and proposed policies.
  • You will organize, directs and evaluates the performance of a workplace composed of approximately 1000 individuals and manage a mission/repair budget of over 100 million dollars.
  • You will review financial, material and workload reports to status ongoing programs and to provide assistance as required for tasks and programs which may be in jeopardy.
  • You will be responsible for taking the lead in executing complex, politically sensitive and difficult policy changes, directives and investigations required for managing the organization.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Experience in a leadership or managerial role, particularly in the context of large teams, ideally in a military or defense-related setting.

Experience and In-depth understanding of organizational structures, responsibilities, and operations within the U.S. Atlantic Fleet and Naval Systems Commands, as well as their field activities.

Experience and authoritative knowledge of the professional and administrative aspects of ship design, conversion, maintenance, and repair.

Experience in one or more of the following areas: engineering, financial management, waterfront operations, or related disciplines.

Experience functioning as the top technical and organizational consultant, participating actively in the engineering, technical, and fiscal management of the command.
