Basic Requirement for an Economist:
A.
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in economics that includes 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
OR
B.
Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning the analysis of civilian harm mitigation surveys; evaluating guidance and regulations to identify new internal requirements; and integrating measures to respond to shifting investments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
