In order to qualify, you must meet the education and Specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement:
A. Degree: 4-year course of study in an accredited college or University leading to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Education. To be acceptable, the program must include or be supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position to be filled, of which at least one course was in research methods and at least two courses were in statistics (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position to be filled, including at least one course in research methods and two courses in statistics, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience must have demonstrated (1) a thorough knowledge of the principles underlying the work of this series, and (2) understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the methods and techniques applied in performing work in this series. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. In addition to courses in the major and related fields, a typical college degree would have included courses that involved analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, etc. These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. Therefore, creditable experience should have demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation.

Specialized experience requirement:
Conduct and oversee education and individual training analysis in support of special operations requirements. Research and identify options to meet operational gaps that exist due to shortfalls in education and individual training. Collaborate amongst stakeholders to identify, validate and execute education and training solutions. Serve as the primary and lead action officer to support academic requirements and research initiatives. Responsible for establishing the external academic and research partner networks and for identifying opportunities for collaborative educational research.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
