In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at leastone year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes knowledge of comprehensive body of rules, procedures and major command directives, concepts, guidance, and policies as they relate to air force officer training and commission programs and knowledge of scholarship theories principals, techniques, and the ability to use those techniques to gather educational and personal information to advise individuals regarding educational and vocational opportunities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of Title 10, US Code, Air Force instructions, and all other regulations pertaining to the operation and function of
scholarships for AFROTC cadets.
- Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters..
- Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures such as independently processing paperwork, managing
multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of reports, documents, formats,
spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
- Ability to use one or more established computer programs/software (Microsoft Office) to enter, maintain, sort and retrieve
organizational and/or program data.
- Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and adjust work priorities as required to meet organizational goals and timelines.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and maintain effective work relationships.
- Skill in using and interpreting automated systems and software in order to draft report and extract data.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
