There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electric Power Controller ~ without more than normal supervision. 1) Detecting improper line voltage, open circuits, or similar conditions from meter readings or charts; and 2) interpreting diagrams and/or drawings that apply directly to electric power distribution systems and/or hydraulic systems. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Prolonged sitting as well as periods of walking, standing, and stooping. Routinely lifts and carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If objects weighing over 50 pounds, uses lifting equipment or coworkers as needed for assistance.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily works inside in well lighted, comfortable work spaces. Occasionally works in proximity to high voltages and currents, subject to burns and shock.In performing duty #4 employee is exposed to the usual temperature, dust, gases, danger of burns from hot pipes and equipment normally occurring in power plants.May be exposed to acid and alkali chemicals used in boiler feed water treatment. Subject to continuous noise.Incumbent will be required to wear respiratory protection and must pass a pulmonary function test by Occupational Health.
