There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician~ without more than normal supervision. Installing, repairing, modifying, troubleshooting, loading and testing new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures and controls. I can perform the following duties: diagnosing, modifying, overhauling, repairing and maintaining a variety of electrical devices, equipment and components.

- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work may be performed in buildings, various items of floating plant, or on outside electrical power lines. May make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding and platforms, and where the parts of the systems worked on are hard to reach places. This requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or occasionally more. Stands, stoops, bends, kneels, climbs steps and ladders, and frequently performs lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to dangers inherent to Repair Station operations on the floating plant and the repair operations such as, but not limited to, drowning, capsizing, falling, and being struck by loads. The majority of work is performed in confined areas subject to exhaust, flames, fuel oil, and cramped positions. Due to extremely high noise levels, hearing protection is required. Works around moving machinery where there is a danger of sustaining cuts and bruises. Works in confined and cramped conditions and spaces and is subject to dangers associated with welding, flame cutting and general structural/mechanical maintenance and repairs. Works indoors and outdoors, subject to all types of weather.
