You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform common duties of an Electrician to include: wiring systems, disassembly and assembly work, install brackets, shelves and racks, remove and replace controls and fixtures; and repair wiring. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding and platforms and where parts of the system worked on are in hard to reach places. Required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries and sets up tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh over 50 pounds with assistance from other workers or equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is done inside buildings and outside, where the incumbent is exposed to weather conditions. Work is usually dirty, dusty and greasy and occasionally noisy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of broken bones, electrical shock and burns. May be required to wear personal protective equipment and clothing (e.g., safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
