You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. Experience performing the majority of the duties of a Maintenance Worker such as carpentry, repairing irrigation systems, and plumbing repairs. Skilled in operating all associated tools and equipment related to the sub journeyman level skills. Experience operating forklifts, backhoes, and tractor-trailers. Performing daily operation checks of this equipment.
Physical effort: Exerts heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently lifting and moving objects weighing under 45 pounds unassisted, obtains assistance or uses appropriate equipment or safety devices when lifting and moving heavy objects greater than 45 pounds. Physical dexterity is needed to handle tools and work around machinery or equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed outdoors in all extremes of weather, in and over water, in wildland vegetation, in flood control and building structures. Hazards include heat, cold, dust, insect bites and stings, injurious vegetation, electric shock, drowning, work around machinery and heavy equipment, noise, vibration, falls from ladders and high work surfaces, and toxic chemicals. Work requires heavy lifting, continuous standing, walking, or stooping in all extremes of weather, including under wet and muddy conditions on steep or uneven terrain. Work requires special care to avoid injuries.
