Duties
Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots, loads and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, lighting and power systems, and associated fixtures, controls and equipment. Incumbent will assist in switching, racking in and removing 12,470v breakers, and troubleshooting of 12,470v gear. Examples of these are: secondary power distribution lines and circuits used to supply a wide range of voltage (120/208/240/277/480) amperage, phase, and frequency require to distribution panels, switch gear, power and control circuits, electrical warning systems and high intensity lighting systems with associated controls. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains a wide variety of lighting systems, heating equipment, shop equipment, laundry, food
service, etc., equipment and rheostats and thermostats, using test equipment such as volt meters, ammeters, watt meters, mergers, ohmmeter, etc.

Physical Requirements: Incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, motorized high lift, as well as other hard to reach places. Stands, stoops, bend, kneel, crawls, climbs and may work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds and less often up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts or moves, with assistance, moderately heavy objects weighing more than 40 pounds. Lifting equipment is available.
Working Conditions: Work is performed both inside and outside, in any weather (hot/cool/wet). Work may be performed in cramped, poorly illuminated, warm & humid interstitial and pipe spaces. Work may be performed in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty and greasy. May work from ladders, scaffolds and platforms. Works from motorized high lift or building roof to install, repair or replace exterior lighting. May utilize catwalks and I-beams in interstitial spaces to access work. Exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, bums and rotary devices such as motors. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
