Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Incumbent installs, modifies, repairs, maintains, trouble shoots, test and loads new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems and associated fixtures, controls and all equipment as assigned by the Electrical-Maintenance Supervisor.
Read system diagrams and schematics, interpret basic electronic terms and symbols, and apply a variety of electrical formulas, tables, charts, and color codes in order to mount, ground, and install wiring and equipment for electrical/electronic systems.
Performs work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, electrical maintenance, and repair manuals to plan and layout the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load continuity and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls. He/she determine and place distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections, and installs wiring couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical devices.
Conduct research and write work orders for approval by supervisor and assist in maintain stock levels for timely repairs. He/she is required to keep all stock and shop areas neat, clean, and orderly. Maintaining tools in a safe, clean working order and protected from theft.
Provide skilled expertise in performing preventive maintenance routinely on industrial and commercial type electrical systems including supporting components of those system. This also includes medical grade refrigerators, freezers units and other equipment with condensers.
Repairs, modifies, maintains, troubleshoots, services, and performs preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems, and related equipment in specific and/or critical areas.
Utilizing the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) to; perform testing and Preventative Maintenance (PM) to critical assets to
keep the Hospital in compliance with Federal, State and Local Accreditation Inspecting Agencies and complete and close out work orders and documentation in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements: The incumbent often works from ladders, scaffolding and hydraulic work platforms. He/she often works in portions of the electrical systems requiring attention that are in cramped, dirty, and hard to-reach locations. The work involves prolonged crouching and standing and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in exhausting and uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts or carries tools, equipment, ladders, scaffolding, parts, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to lift and carry over 40 pounds.
