Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician (Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision; installing insulators, bending and cutting conduit, calculate voltage, current; utilize building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams to plan and layout routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, and systems.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Physical Effort - Work assignments involve standing, climbing, bending, crouching, and occasionally working in cramped and awkward positions. Works at ground level and from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, manlifts, bucket trucks, and aerial lift trucks where parts of systems worked on are in hard to reach places. Frequently lifts and carry tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, employee lifts or moves with assistance moderately heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
- Work Conditions - Employee works on different shift schedules. Work is performed both in and out of doors where there is regular exposure to dirt, dust, grease, noise, and bad weather. There is also exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, electrical shock and burns. Protective devices such as but not limited to earplugs, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hard hat, and safety shoes are required. Long trousers or coveralls and shirt or tee shirt with sleeves are worn.
