WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel Enlisted Member (E-4/SPC - E-7/SFC) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel Enlisted Member (E-4/SPC - E-7/SFC), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E-4/SPC - E-7/SFC)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience or training providing technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower-grade employees.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 24 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WL-10 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WL grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
- Experience or training of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods.
- Experience or training with the functional relationships of circuits, assemblies, and equipment serviced.
- Experience or training to install major modifications to instruments and equipment in accordance with instruction and procedures.
- Experience or training serving as a working leader.
