Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common Electronics Worker tasks. Disassemble and assemble communication equipment, maintenance and repair tasks on communications equipment such as microphones, speakers, antennas. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Physical Effort: Exhaustive physical exertion is periodically required. Employee is required to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb and lift frequently and for prolonged periods of time. Required to service antennas affixed to roofs and high places. Routinely handles objects weighing up to 66 pounds. Occasionally lifts objects in excess of 66 pounds.
- Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside, in garrison or field environment, frequently in cramped and awkward positions. Outside work involves exposure to extreme cold and heat. Exposed to the possibility of bruises, burns, cuts, electrical shocks, and broken bones. Possibility exists for injury from dropped units or parts. Utilizes safety equipment and follows safety procedures.
