There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics worker (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common task associated with Electronics Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) duties. Perform electrical equipment repair tasks such as maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting electrical devices - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Exerts moderately heavy physical effort in performing lifting and carrying tasks; objects generally weighing up to 70 lbs.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside during all types of weather conditions. Works around and with electrical power supplies from 12 volt DC though 480 VAC to 3-phase high voltage current. Works inside in areas, which may be dusty, drafty, noisy and unheated. Stands on concrete and gravel floors, and works outside in rough terrain. Works around military combat, and tactical wheel and track vehicles and heavy equipment during range and urban combat facilities training operations. Exposed to danger of loud noises, pyrotechnics, laser frequencies, and explosives. May be exposed to sulfuric acid when handling batteries used in operating remotely controlled target devices. Is exposed to the possibility of abrasions, cuts, burns, electrical shock, falls, vehicle accidents, snake bites, skin irritants from poisonous plants and explosives. Hearing protective devices, hard hats with face shield and other safety equipment and devices are issued or readily available for use. Required to enter impact areas containing unexploded munitions. Environmental differential pay is authorized when the incumbent is required to load or unload Hoffman charges, deploy other electrically detonated explosive charges, and/or to work in areas generating a threat from unstable dud munitions.
