Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to lead, experience relaying instructions to co-workers, setting the pace for work accomplishments, keeping work progressing to meet a given deadline or schedule, inspecting work of others, and performing preventative maintenance on different types of vehicles such as; road graders, back hoes, dozers, excavators, diesel tractor trailer combination, front end loader, dump truck, or a 3 axle tilt deck. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Physical Effort: Work involves constant bending, reaching, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet and legs to
handle different sets of controls. Considerable strain is caused by constant vibration, jerking and
jolting from operations over rough surfaces or using the jackhammer. Frequently works in awkward
or strained positions. Some work requires long periods of standing and walking. Operation of
equipment requires good hand and eye coordination and depth perception. Frequently lifts and
carries items weighing 50 pounds and occasionally heavier.
- Working Conditions: Works in all types of weather often in open driver's seat or on a platform. Works on all types of
terrain. Exposed to injury from overturning of equipment, working around underground gas, steam,
power, and water lines. Exposed to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, and hazardous or flammable
materials.
