You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator (MVO) ~ Without more than normal supervision. Can operate a steering road roller to grade exact specifications on flat and rolling terrain, operate a bulldozer around trees, drop-offs and obstructions to clear brush, operate a front-end loader, backhoe and trackers on steep slopes to clear roads and right of ways, and operate dump trucks for transporting heavy equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Heavy physical effort is used in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle controls. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration, jolting, and jerking of equipment over terrain.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATION: This work is performed outside in all types of weather, in open cabs, over rough and rocky terrain, swamps, flat land, hills, in dense forest areas, and on steep rises having a wide variety of soil conditions. Incumbent is subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from motor and exhaust.
