Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
All new supervisors and managers must satisfactorily complete a one-year probationary period.
Telework: The duties of this position are not suitable for telework.
Physical Effort: This position requires significant physical effort, including frequent reaching, bending, twisting, and continuous use of the hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate equipment and its attachments. The work involves prolonged exposure to equipment vibration and often requires maintaining awkward or physically demanding positions. The incumbent may also be required to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and exert comparable force when pushing, pulling, turning, or positioning parts, assemblies, equipment, and tools.
Working Conditions: This position requires work both indoors and outdoors, with the majority of duties performed outdoors. The incumbent is frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions, including rain, snow, mud, and extreme temperatures, as well as noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, exhaust, oils, and damp conditions.
The work involves operating heavy equipment and exposure to hazards such as equipment overturning and injuries including cuts, abrasions, bruises, and strains. The incumbent is required to follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, hard hats, and other required safety gear.
