About Us

The Program Management Office (PMO) at the FAA is pivotal in transforming, modernizing, and sustaining the National Airspace System (NAS). As part of our dynamic team, you will engage in engineering and acquisition efforts to maintain and advance the FAA's automation systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience and insight into the programs and projects that drive our organization. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks that will deepen your understanding of our systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test outlines and procedures for documenting test cases and collecting data
  • Contribute to software development through coding and code modification
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and provide feedback
  • Assist in providing technical support and metrics data automation
  • Investigate and implement solutions to system, network, and process issues
  • Support user migrations and system outreach activities
  • Communicate findings through technical reports and briefings
  • Participate in answering help desk calls and software change reviews
  • Qualifications

    Basic Requirements: Successful completion of a four-year professional engineering program leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

    Alternatively, a combination of education and experience in fields such as physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, or related professional fields with at least one year of professional engineering experience.

    Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship, and if applicable, Selective Service Registration.
