In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade or band is required. It is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-02 pay band (or GS-11 level or higher equivalency) in the Federal Service which includes experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Understanding of commercial based threat technology and its potential use on the battlefield for nefarious purposes and/or in identifying, developing, integrating, and fabricating accurate and representative commercial technology.
- Fabricating and assembling Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) with both surface mount and through-hole components
- Testing and characterizing RF components including transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, Current Power Supply (CPS), and digital circuits using equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and mixed-signal generators
- Interpreting engineering drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, and engineering fabrication instructions to ensure precise construction and/or reliability of fabricated devices
