In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Applicants who are Current or Prior Federal Service Employees
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in performing engineering project planning, design OR project management; AND 2) Performing technical work in drafting portions of design work i.e., design calculations, equipment specifications and selection, and building and safety code verification. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Applicants who are NOT Current or Prior Federal Service Employees
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in performing engineering project planning, design OR project management; AND 2) Performing technical work in drafting portions of design work i.e., design calculations, equipment specifications and selection, and building and safety code verification. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Although not a requirement, proficiency in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) system is highly desirable.
