Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This is a permanent position with the U.S. Army Engineer Division, Transatlantic Middle East District Technical Services located in Winchester, VA. Visit the US Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Middle East District.

Duties

  • Review contracted design and construction submittals to ensure compliance with the USACE Advanced Modeling standard (AdM).
  • Make modifications to civil features where overall design is responsibility of engineer.
  • Utilize software-related systems to provide technical design assistance, construction plans, and other engineering products and support to architects and engineers.
  • Develop and maintain AdM Project Execution Plans, procedures, and standard operational workflows.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a SECRET security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes : preparing complete, complex Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; reviewing engineering drawings prepared by others, developing layouts for a variety of projects, implementing appropriate engineering selections/adaptations from AdM databases; and developing and maintaining AdM Project Execution Plans, procedures, and standard operational workflows.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
